ONE CHOIR PRACTICE for 3 GROUPS:  Music ministers from the LITURGICAL CHOIR, YouthSing!, and Collegesing! gather for an hour on Wednesday evenings (5:00-6:00pm) to learn parts for the upcoming Sunday’s mass music.  Rehearsals are optional, but encouraged.  CHOIR PRACTICE commences Wednesday, September 7 @ 5:00-6:00pm in the choir room!

Liturgical Choir (multi-generational)

GENERAL INFORMATION: The Roncalli Newman LITURGICAL CHOIR is open to anyone who can carry a tune and wishes to add their voice (however unique that might be) to the ranks of those who lead music for worship at Newman. Our ranks swell during the Advent/Lent seasons when we add an extra practice for our Christmas/TRIDUUM choirs (generally, 5:30-7:00pm on Wednesdays).  The LITURGICAL CHOIR members sing primarily at the 9:00am mass.

KidSing! (children, grades 3-6)

KidSing! is comprised of (but not limited to) children in grades 3-6. The primary mission of the group is to offer elementary-age children an opportunity to learn more about our Catholic tradition through music ministry. The children will practice for 45 minutes/week (Wednesday afternoons, time TBA) and will sing for one 9:00am liturgy/month. We will also work on a special program for the parish's annual Thanksgiving Potluck (Thursday, November 17th).

Mrs. Regina Chihak will co-direct the group this FALL 2011!!!

YouthSing! (high school students)

YouthSing! is comprised of high school students who are interested in music and are willing to offer their talents to the parish. The group will sing for most 5:00pm masses on Saturday evening, meeting @ 4:00pm for practice. ANY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT IS WELCOME ANY SATURDAY THAT WORKS IN HIS/HER SCHEDULE. The format is flexible for busy high school students!!!

CollegeSing! (UW-L, WTC, Viterbo students)

UW-L, WTC, and Viterbo students comprise CollegeSing!, the music ministry team serving the 7:00pm mass each Sunday evening, beginning September 4th and coinciding with the school year. Students meet at 6:00pm for a 50-minute practice before mass. There are further opportunities for leading devotional prayer (during the week) and getting involved in music ministry social events.
