Here is some info regarding practicing fasting and abstinence during Lent. Fasting means limiting one's intake of food. All Catholics age 14 and older are required to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Abstinence means giving up a certain type of food for example abstaining from meat on Fridays in Lent. All Catholics age 14 and older are called to fast from meat on Ash Wednesday and all Fridays in Lent.
